Discovery

Our team has leveraged its years of Decision Modeling experience to develop a set of innovative offerings – from Agile and “design thinking” inspired discovery days to QuickStep agile requirements formulation sprints (see below for more information).

 

Discovery Days

Our experts work with your team to rapidly create a decision-aware process model, identifying decision points within your high level business process. We then jointly model, validate and test a key decision within Sapiens DECISION. The day is highly interactive and participants are exposed to the power and effectiveness of DECISION STEP methodology and the acceleration, automation and enablement provided by Sapiens DECISION.

 

Depending on the audience and predefined objectives, the day can be broken into a modeling portion and a technical deep dive, focused on architecture, deployment and integration. Participants learn to read The Decision Model; and are exposed to the methodology, software and technical options. Our team develops an understanding of your business and technical objectives in order to proceed with next steps (as mutually determined).

 

QuickStep Agile Requirements Formulation Sprints & Innovation Workshops

Our QuickSTEP innovation workshop is designed to build alignment among stakeholders and project participants for initiatives that are being considered or already underway. One of our principal architects and master-level facilitators lead the team through Row 1 of the Zachman Framework, discovering and documenting the “who?”, “what?”, “where?”, “when?”, “why?” and “how?” of the area under consideration. Leveraging Step 1 of the QuickSTEP methodology, assumptions are tested and consensus is established, through an interactive dialogue.

At the end of the workshop, deliverables are in place to build a project charter and draft a scope statement for the project. The scope statement can then be tested against the business plan, and the team can confirm alignment. Sapiens offers a menu of next steps options, including team assessment, training, approach and release planning.

 

Education

Our team offers The Decision Model training through our Decision Modeling Essentials (DME) course, a one-day, technology-agnostic course. By eschewing technology and focusing on building up competency step-by-step, participants complete the training with a strong theoretical underpinning that translates to stronger modelers and higher return on investment (ROI).

 

We also offer a three-day course: DECISION for Analysts. This instructor-led, classroom-based course provides participants with an intensive modeling experience, using the features and functionality of Sapiens DECISION. Case studies are introduced and examined with progressively detailed analysis and features of the modeling suite, building on knowledge acquired.

 

Participants leave the course ready to take a knowledge source and model it to completion, using many of the standard day-to-day features of the tool, modeling best practices and some advanced techniques.

 

For those who are serious practitioners, we offer a rigorous certification process designed to ensure the skills necessary to perform the critical tasks that result in the business improvement The Decision Model (TDM) is designed to deliver. Certification ensures consistency of the education process and ramp-up as practitioners begin using TDM.

TDM is based on 15 core principles that guide the practitioner through the cycle of discovering, documenting, verifying, testing and releasing business logic, as a strategic asset of the enterprise. The certification ensures the practitioner understands and can apply these core principles of TDM, maximizing the potential for real world success. Certification is a combination of a written and oral exam, and requires a minimum of six-months project experience.

 

Implementation

We use a proprietary, tailored methodology, DECISION STEP, to ensure each client’s deployment plan will maximize success.

 

Scoping, Adoption and Planning

Working with your team over the course of a two-to-three week engagement, we will scope a target project, developing a high level process model, backlog of prioritized decision models, release plan, technical architecture document and adoption plan. This will serve as the roadmap for the project engagement, as well as a blueprint for the change management effort.

 

Center of Excellence

Many clients decide to adopt a Center of Excellence (COE) as part of the operating model for their Decision Management adoption roadmap. Sapiens DECISION leverages our experience of building COEs at complex organizations to help our customers map their own approach for building a COE. We begin with our Decision Management Maturity Model and map your targets, timelines and organizational dependencies against potential approaches and plans. We can help benchmark your plan and conduct interval assessments and ongoing tuning, based on on-the-ground realities.
